Eagles Nest Church · Roswell, Georgia
BrandGuidelines
The marks, colors, type, language, and usage rules that protect the Eagles Nest identity across every surface we show up on, Sunday through Saturday.
01 — About this document
Why these standards matter.
Every flyer, sermon slide, social post, sign, and shirt either strengthens this brand or slowly erodes it.
The people Eagles Nest is built for have sat in boardrooms and been to events at the highest level of their industries. They can tell the difference between excellence and show. A sloppy graphic is not a small thing to them. It is information.
This manual is the single source of truth for staff, volunteers, designers, and outside vendors. When something here is unclear, ask before you build.
Protect the mark
One eagle, drawn once, used correctly everywhere.
Move faster with confidence
Fewer decisions per project. Fewer rounds of revision.
Speak with one voice
The reel on Thursday and the lobby sign on Sunday should sound like the same church.
Match the standard we preach
Excellence is a value here. It has to show up in the work.
02 — Our story
Equipping leaders to soar.
Mission
Equipping leaders to SOAR in their faith, family, friendships, finances and fitness through a community where you feel connected and valued.
Vision
We help you connect your faith to everyday life.
Founded
2012 · Roswell, Georgia · by Pastor Lee Jenkins, beginning as a men's Bible study.
Scripture anchor · identity
“…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…”
Isaiah 40:31
Isaiah 40:31 is the identity scripture. It governs who we are, how we grow, and everything on the Sunday side of the brand.
03 — The framework
What it means to soar.
Five areas. One life.
01
Faith
The foundation. A growing relationship with God, anchored in scripture and made practical through the teaching.
02
Family
Honoring the marriage covenant and investing in family health, from parenting to generational legacy.
03
Friendships
This is not a place you sit down and leave. Real relationships, built on purpose.
04
Finances
Stewardship is in our DNA and it is preached from the pulpit, not tucked into a workshop.
05
Fitness
Physical health is part of wholeness. We take a whole-person view of the life God designed.
Write it this way
SOAR is a verb, not an acronym. Never expand it into four made-up words. If you need the five areas, name them.
Don't confuse these
SOAR (no periods) is the framework. S.O.A.R. (with periods) is the singles ministry. Keep them visually distinct.
04 — Values
I AM EAGLE.
These eight values were named by the team. They describe how staff operate and what leaders hold each other accountable to.
They are internal architecture. Use them in hiring, onboarding, leader development, and team review, not as public marketing copy.
Whatever we do, we do it as unto the Lord.
Integrity
Character that does not bend to context or cost.
Authority of Scripture
The Bible is the final word on every decision and ministry.
Marriage & Family Unity
Harmony in homes and in the body, treated as sacred.
Excellence
Ministry done with real professionalism and skill.
Accountability
Every person owns their words and their actions.
Generosity
We exist to serve, not to accumulate.
Leadership Development
Passing on knowledge, opportunity, and responsibility.
Enthusiasm
The joy of the Lord is our strength. Energy is a value here.
05 — Voice & tone
Boardroom to Bible.
We communicate like a trusted friend who also happens to be the most grounded, most prepared, most credible person in the room.
Clear and direct
Clean declarative sentences. No meandering. Our audience values precision.
Warmth without fanfare
Write to one person, not a crowd. Nothing that reads like a committee wrote it.
Unapologetic and unhurried
Never defensive about who we are. Specificity is what attracts the right people.
Excellence that shows
We do not say we are excellent. Proof everything. Every typo sends a message.
Challenge-forward
Lead with possibility, not obligation. End with movement: a next step, a question, an invitation.
We say
- “Step into your purpose.”
- “Equipped to lead.”
- “A community that sees you.”
- “Our teen experience.”
- “Here's what to expect.”
We don't say
- “You don't want to miss this!!!”
- “As we journey together…”
- “Eagles Nest cordially invites you…”
- “Making an impact through transformative programs.”
- Acronyms with no explanation.
The newcomer test
If someone who has never been to church reads this, will they know what it is and what to do next? If not, rewrite it.
06 — The logo
The primary mark.
01 Symbol
A single eagle in flight, wings swept up, drawn in gold. One bird. Never redrawn, never rebuilt from parts.
02 Wordmark
“eagles nest” is custom lettering, always lowercase, always blue in primary use. It is artwork, not live type. Never re-typeset it.
03 Relationship
The wordmark tucks into the eagle's wing. That interlock is the logo. Never separate, re-space, resize, or realign the two.
07 — Two identities
One house. Two front doors.
Our building is a church on Sunday and a multi-use commercial facility the rest of the week. Those are two different audiences arriving with two different questions, so we run two identities. Not two brands. One brand, presented two ways, each honest about what it is.
Church identity
Eagle · wordmark · CHURCH
The complete mark. Sunday services, ministry materials, giving, guest experience, social, sermon graphics, volunteer apparel, and merch for the congregation. Anywhere we are speaking as a church, the eagle and the word CHURCH both belong.
Facility identity
Wordmark only
No eagle. No CHURCH. Venue rental, weddings, corporate bookings, community partnerships, property leasing, building signage, and civic collateral. Someone pricing a wedding venue should be able to evaluate the facility on its own terms.
The test
Are we speaking as a church, or are we speaking as a venue? That single question decides which identity you use. It is never a style preference.
08 — The facility identity
Eagles Nest, the venue.
Outside the church context, the brand is the wordmark and nothing else. It has to feel like a professional venue and property group, because that is exactly what it is.

09 — Construction
Logo anatomy.
Every proportion is measured from the master file. Nothing here is approximate.
All values are expressed in X, where X is the x-height of the wordmark.
Symbol height = 3.1 X. It rises above the ascenders and drops well below the baseline.
Symbol width = 2.75 X.
The wordmark overlaps the symbol by 1.29 X. This overlap is intentional and fixed.
CHURCH cap height = 0.43 X, sitting 0.68 X below the wordmark baseline, optically centered.
Full lockup ratio = 3.07 : 1. Scale proportionally, always.
Never rebuild the logo by hand. Always place the approved file.
10 — Symbolism
One eagle. One ascent.
The eagle is caught mid-climb, not perched and not gliding. Wings up, head forward, already committed. That posture is the whole point: this is a church for people who are still rising.
The wings
Strength, courage, and lift. In scripture the eagle is the picture of renewed strength, the bird that uses the storm to climb.
The nest
The form beneath the eagle grounds the mark. A nest is where people are fed, protected, and developed until they are ready to fly.
Both halves matter. Remove the nest and it is only ambition. Remove the eagle and it is only shelter. Eagles Nest is the place you are cared for and the place you are sent from.
11 — Protection
Clear space & minimum size.
Minimum clear space on all sides equals X, the x-height of the wordmark. Nothing enters this zone. No text, no photo edge, no other logo, no page trim.
Going smaller? Use the symbol alone. Never shrink the full lockup past its floor.
12 — Variations

Rules
Light fields are always the warm off-white #F6F4EF, never pure white, because pure white reads cold and clinical next to gold. The all-navy logo is retired; use charcoal for one-color work. On dark or mid-tone fields use reversed or one-color art. Never place the two-color logo on a photograph without a solid plate behind it.
13 — The symbol
When the eagle flies alone.
The symbol may stand on its own only where the Eagles Nest name is already established or appears elsewhere in the same field of view. App icons, social avatars, embroidery, favicons, stage screens, and merch. It is not a substitute for the logo on first contact.
Gold · primary
The default. Digital, web, print, social.
Blue · accent
Celebration, honor, premium events.
Navy · executive
Leadership materials, stationery.
Charcoal · formal
One-color print, formal documents.
White · reversed
Dark fields, stage screens, overlays.
14 — Misuse
What not to do.
The logo is a fixed asset. These modifications are never acceptable, under any circumstance, for any reason, on any deadline.

No glow or shadow

White · 60%
The background. Breathing room, calm, space.
Navy · 30%
Typography, structure, authority.
Gold · 10%

Rule of thumb
Gold should feel earned, not everywhere. Use it to crown the single most important moment on the page.

Never set gold type on white, or white type on gold, below 24px. That pairing fails contrast at body sizes.
17 — Seasonal
Approved campaign accents.
Seasonal colors are temporary accents for specific occasions, never replacements for the primary palette. Use sparingly, ten percent of a layout at most, alongside navy and gold.

Rules of use
Secondary accent, never the dominant color · Paired with navy, white, or gold only · Never recolors the logo itself · Never two seasonal colors in one layout · Retire the moment the season ends
18 — Color misuse
Colors we will never accept.
Forest green
The logo is never recolored to forest, olive, or hunter green under any circumstance.
Pastels
No pastels on flyers, ministry materials, or primary communications.
Neon & hi-saturation
Nothing neon, fluorescent, or over-saturated. Our palette is grown, not loud.
Washed out or faded
No opacity tricks, tints, or screened-back logos. The mark always appears at full strength.
19 — Typography
Type hierarchy.
This is the house standard, not scripture. The wordmark rules are fixed. Everything below it is a strong default that keeps our work consistent. Designers with a reason to deviate should deviate, then tell the creative team so the standard can catch up.
“eagles nest” is drawn lettering, not a font you have. It cannot be retyped, extended, or matched. If you need the name in type, set it in Poppins and do not try to make it look like the logo.
Headlines, scripture, pull quotes, and premium leadership materials. Weights 300 to 500. Never below 22px.
Body copy, event titles, web, app, social graphics. Weights 300, 400, 500, 600, 700. Geometric, so it sits naturally beside the wordmark.
All-caps labels, eyebrows, buttons, signage, wayfinding, and shirt role labels. Always with wide letter-spacing, 0.18em minimum.
Hierarchy in use
Every Sunday we gather to grow in faith, family, and purpose. Arrive early for coffee and conversation.

Our people
Eagles Nest is a predominantly African-American congregation of executives, entrepreneurs, retired professionals, and families, currently strongest at ages 40 to 60 and actively building toward 23 to 40. Imagery must reflect that reality with warmth and aspiration. If the person in the photo could not plausibly be sitting in the room on Sunday, do not use the photo.

22 — Stewardship
Protect the nest.
Every piece of creative made for Eagles Nest, whether a social post, flyer, shirt, sign, slide, or banner, represents the mission. Before you ship, ask:
Does it feel bold, classic, elegant, and excellent?
Is the correct lockup used, with CHURCH or without?
Are the colors and type exactly on system?
Would a first-time guest know what to do next?
Does it point people toward Jesus with excellence?
